IFPD supports the creation of social businesses for deprived youth and women to provide them with sources of revenues on one hand, and, on the other hand, to sustain poverty reduction programs on health and education in the long run. The Foundation aims at creating local expertise via the transmission of know-how from Switzerland and within targeted countries. Social businesses are ventures which integrate a social purpose, and re-invest surpluses into their social objective. They create jobs, generate revenues, and deliver beneficial social impacts.
Once the necessary steps in the field of health and education have been taken, it is essential to guide beneficiaries towards an actual autonomy, in particular on the financial level. Offer professional training, assist them with the creation of cooperatives and microbusinesses, and establish links with local employers are key interventions to achieve this goal.
