Born in Afghanistan, Noor began to travel on his own to other countries at the age of 16, looking for a job. Back in Afghanistan, he started to train in the construction business to follow in the footsteps of his father and grand-father, who were both architects. At the age of 19, he had to interrupt his studies to do his military service, and spent 10 months in the army, during which he was injured. His mother then told him to leave Afghanistan in order to escape the horrors of war. He went away alone, at the age of 20, leaving his whole family behind.
Nooramad arrived in Switzerland four years ago. At first, the culture shock made it hard for him to become integrated, and he really suffered from the language barrier. Nevertheless, Nooramad was determined and wanted to set up his own business. Based on the knowledge he gathered during his adolescence, he decided to train in the renovation of buildings. Since he had no entrepreneurial experience and no contacts in Switzerland, he turned to Alter Start for support. The coaches helped him to get organized, professionalize his structure, and become independent.
«I arrived in Switzerland with nothing. I started with nothing. But I worked very hard and I made it so far.»
