Her Story
Riham is Eritrean and has been living in Switzerland since October 2011. She has 6 children. Her arrival in Switzerland was difficult, in particular due to the language barrier. Her children are now well integrated, and motivated to study and work. Her husband (who passed away) was a wholesaler, and both used to work in the trade of goods from Eritrea. As a widow with 6 children, Riham has to face many challenges. She now embarked on the design of clothing and on cooking .

Background
Riham is very experienced in tailoring; she used to work as a designer in Eritrea. She was able to join an excellent training course in Switzerland, at the Eracom (Ecole romande d’arts et communication). She wants to continue to train as a dressmaker. She also has a passion for cooking, and has already offered her services to several associations. Her dishes are highly appreciated.
«My dream is to set up a sewing and pattern-making business. But I also love cooking, and in parallel I think about creating a small catering venture.»
Her project
Riham strongly relies on Alter Start to set up her business, look for premises, get a licence, etc. Her experience as a saleswoman in Eritrea allowed her to gain solid knowledge in management and logistics, but she is not familiar enough with the Swiss context, in particular with the administrative and legal requirements. Alter Start assists her in developing her activities, and optimizing their implementation.
